Born in the vast landscapes of Crimea, the heiress of a pictorial language in which the Byzantine influences are visible, promises a powerful and generous work. Liliya grew up on the borders of the black sea, under a blue sky just like the color of her eyes. This undine with blond hair, lover of flowers, birds and all living species, has a natural gift to draw in harmonious colors.
At that time in the history of Crimea (end of the Soviet period), art was not an important preoccupation.
Having finished her first and second education there, she took the train to Kiev to study accountability and finances, which she has a degree in.
Liliya soon realized that unfortunately she would not have any opportunity to further develop in that part of Europe and so decided to try her vbluck in France, where she also married.
After having succeeded in different employments, Liliya and her husband took over the direction of a hotel in Picardy, close to the Abbey of Saint Riquier.
The director of the Abbey and its museum, Lionel Michaud, connoisseur, realized how gifted Liliya is and advised her to improve her skills in my studio in Chaussée-Tirancourt. Since then she is rapidly progressing, owing to her talent and sensuality.
Looking at Liliya’s painting we find the accuracy of a Pisanello as well as the taste for architectural perspectives. So, time is suspended, the clouds are motionless in the sky, the trees bowed over as the wind was absent momentarily. Lilia’s colours remind us of Andrei Rublev fresco, painter of the fourteenth century, author of exceptional icons exhibited in museums and religious buildings in Russia. Treatment with hot wax it implements painted panels that adds to them a mysterious shine with a subtle depth.
Ever since I first met Liliya I know that she is destined to paint and she will surprise us.
